Virgin poppy seed oil is mechanically cold pressed from quality blue poppy seeds of Czech origin. There is no further processing. The oil does not contain any intoxicating substances or cholesterol, but it has a large content of unsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E.

The oil is popular mainly for its fantastic taste and delicate aroma.

Poppy seed oil is only suitable for preparing cold meals. Its delicate taste makes the oil suitable for both sweet and savoury meals (vegetable and fruit salads, spreads, fruit sauces or on crepes). It can only be added to cooked meals after heat processing. It is also suitable as a dietary supplement with recommended dosage of 1 teaspoon 2x a day.

The oil is largely used for cosmetic purposes. It softens the skin and soothes it after eczemas or sunbathing. It is also used in skin and nail care.

The European Commission Regulation no. 432/2012 prohibits claims made on foods and locations selling such foods regarding the health benefits of products which are not specifically approved by this regulation. Therefore it is not possible to use generally accepted claims regarding the effects of the respective products.

Poppy seed oil contains about 65-70% of unsaturated fatty acids (omega-3, 6 and 9) and a high dose of vitamin E making it beneficial for the body.

Proper storage is one of the most important parts of retaining virgin oil properties. Store it in cool and dark places for no longer than 9 months. Store open bottles in a fridge and use within 3 months. Potential sediment at the bottom is not harmful.
